Rain into Saturday north and west Good morning, A ridge of high pressure over the country today offers a generally fine day. There's some residual overnight rain to clear from the southeast plus local light showers coming inland from some western coasts this morning, but all this will fade. Sunshine breaking through generally best in eastern areas, but sunny spells are likely for many into the afternoon. West to southwesterly breezes will drop light for most, but the southwesterly wind then increases toward the northwest of Britain and Ireland tonight as more rain sweeps in here, turning heavy for the northwest into early Saturday. Today's top temperatures reaching 22C in the southeast, 20C for the Midlands, 18C toward the north and west. Have a great day. Garry
