Rain pushing southwards. Sunshine and scattered showers elsewhere. Good morning, A chilly start in the north. Locally heavy and possibly thundery showers as well as longer spells of rain affecting the Borders and northern England into Wales will gradually ease off through the morning. Largely dry elsewhere but with scattered showers, these particularly affecting northern coasts and hills. As the day progresses expect the showers and longer spells of rain to push south into the Midlands and East Anglia. Sunny spells but also scattered showers elsewhere. Showers fading across southern parts of England overnight. Showers will continue to affect northern coasts and hills, these moving inland across central Scotland as well as parts of Wales. Otherwise many will be dry with clear spells. Highs during the daytime at 23C in southeast England but 17C in central Wales and northern England as well as Ireland, 15 or 16C in Scotland.
