Few showers at first, then brighter central and eastern areas Plenty of cloud around on Wednesday morning with some heavy showers affecting western parts of Scotland. The cloud is going to break elsewhere and that will allow some bright or sunny spells to come through. Increasing cloud later in the morning across south western part of Ireland in south-west England, where they will already have been, some black cloud and fog on hills. This afternoon sees the showers affecting western and northern Scotland again, some of them heavy scattered showers elsewhere, but generally a drier afternoon, although still with a fair amount of cloud for many areas. Central parts of England, central and eastern Scotland should be brighter. Some rain arriving in Southwest Ireland later. Cloud increases further this evening and spills eastwards tonight. Increasingly murky and drizzly across western and southern coast and hills. More persistent rain in Ireland and also across western parts of Wa les and England. Mostly dry in the east although even hear there could be some drizzle at times.
