Many places will see a dry day with just well scattered showers forming into the afternoon. The legacy of Monday's rain or showers will leave mist patches first thing, but these dispersing.

Sunny spells breaking through, best near to the coasts into the afternoon, then some sunshine more widely by evening.

Light winds for most places, but a northerly breeze will feel cool on the east coast.

Today's top temperatures rising to 14 to 17C, warmest in central-southern England.
