 Thick cloud in southwest with rain. Brighter and showery elsewhere. The day starts cloudy for southern counties of Ireland, and possibly southwest England, with outbreaks of rain. Elsewhere the day will start fairly bright with occasional showers, these mostly towards the east coast, and possibly turning wintry over high ground in Scotland. Through the day rain will continue for the southwest with some showers in the eat being on the heavy side. Breezy in south. Maximum temperatures at 8-10C for most areas. Widespread frost developing overnight over Scotland. Through the evening rain will clear from Ireland and south Wales but will gradually develop more widely over the south coast, and turning heavy overnight. Showers over the north and east will soon die away in the evening with mostly dry conditions following. Minimum temperatures at 3-5C in north and 6-7C in south.
